Are you looking for some extra preparation for Unit 3 SACs? Are you trying to push yourself to achieve the #1 Maths Methods SAC rank in your cohort, or just simply wanting some more practice to extend yourself. Well look no further than our newly developed Mock SAC pack for Unit 3! This pack contains:

  • Unit 3 SAC 1a - Tech Free Question Booklet
  • Unit 3 SAC 1a - Fully worked solutions and marking guide
  • Unit 3 SAC 1b - Tech allowed Question Booklet
  • Unit 3 SAC 1b - Fully worked solutions and marking guide

These practice SACs are developed to be tailored exactly to the current VCAA Maths Methods Study Design but also contain any questions that push beyond the difficulty limits of a typical Victoria Maths Methods SAC, truly challenging students to push further and excel in VCE Maths Methods. Additionally, we recognise just how important it is to not only do the practice but to ensure you are actually practicing with the correct method, so we have included fully worked solutions for both SAC papers, containing not only step-by-step solutions but also tips from one of Melbourne's best Maths Methods tutoring experts.

What Topics to Study?

The main content in Unit 3 is the material of Areas of Study 1 and 2 and the content related to differentiation from Area of Study 3. The key topics of Area of Study 1 are understanding functions and relations, transformations, graphing skills for the functions commonly seen in Mathematical Methods, and modelling of real-world problems with these functions. The key topics of Area of Study 2 are solving equations involving polynomials, trigonometric functions, and systems of linear equations, and working with inverse and composite functions. The key components of the differentiation content in Area of Study 3 are the ability to differentiate common functions seen in Mathematical Methods, and fluency in using these skills to consider key features of graphs (such as stationary points and points of inflections) and analyse modelling problems.
